Student Voices
It’s been a way to follow in his footsteps. I have dreams, everyone has dreams, and I would like to accomplish them, and I know this is the way to do it, by going through education. It’s been a way to do what I have to do to succeed.
What gives me the most pride is finishing what I started over twenty years ago, and my daughter and I will graduate the same year. I have proved to my children and grandchildren that you can go back to school at any age. I strongly encourage anyone seeking to fulfill their dreams of furthering their education to step out in faith and give the I-LEAD program a chance.
This program has opened up my mind and intellect to all sorts of possibilities.
I attribute my confidence and improved writing abilities to the courses I have taken while at Harcum with I-LEAD. I also use lessons learned in my negotiating course to handle both personal and business matters.
I had dropped out of school to pursue other things in my life, and I-LEAD gave me the opportunity to come back. I had tried other ways of getting my education, but it didn’t work out. I-LEAD allowed me to run my business and get my education at the same time. A leadership degree has helped me with my business, with my people, and in my community. I graduated in 2007 and I went on to Cheyney University with a full scholarship. I have with me my son, class of 2009.
When I first came in for enrollment, I began to feel the empowerment taking place within me. I feel this feeling the first night of every class.
I chose I-LEAD because I am a working professional and I needed a program that was conducive to my lifestyle, and I –LEAD offered that. Classes in my community, being with like-minded individuals who are trying to do the same thing you want to do. The program has been convenient, challenging, but also fun at the same time. I’ve grown a lot over these last two years, thank you I-LEAD.
I have developed my writing skills far beyond my normal limits. My confidence has greatly improved. Giving oral presentations in class, I am assured that tackling this task in a professional setting is no problem.
It has built up my mind and my outlook on life.
